Welcome to NNW Maths Hub, we are one of a network of 37 Maths Hubs in England, working together within the Maths Hub Programme, which began in 2014. The programme is funded by the Department of Education (DfE) and coordinated by the National Centre of Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM). Find out more about the programme at mathshubs.org.uk
Children’s chances of succeeding in education and life will be maximised if they develop deep and lasting procedural and conceptual mathematical understanding.
The core purpose of the Maths Hub is to help schools and colleges lead improvement in mathematics education in England. They seek to harness all the maths leadership and expertise within an area, to develop and spread excellent practice, for the benefit of all pupils and students. They are part of the wider development of school-led system leadership in England.
The Maths Hub national programme continues to grow. To further develop how schools can engage with Maths Hubs, there is a greater clarification of each Maths Hub area and how it fits within the wider national picture. Our hub works to provide the best possible support for schools in Cumbria, and the local authority districts of Lancaster, Wyre and Ribble Valley. We continue to work in collaboration with NW1, NW2 & NW3 Maths Hubs to meet the needs of all schools across the region, so please don't hesitate to contact us if you are close to a border.
